Hi! My name is Finley, and I am currently a Junior at the University of Oregon, majoring in Advertising with a Sports Business minor. I am very passionate about sports, as most of my life has been centered around them. I am from Portland, Oregon, although I was born in Scotland, where my dad’s side of the family is from.

Diversity in Media Scrapbook 

This work sample was for my Gender & Diversity Media class. I chose to include this as I believe Kendrick Lamar makes such complex music that I think it’s very important to analyze his work. I am a huge fan of his music, and I think the messages and meanings behind his music are essential for people to understand. My analysis of his song, The Blacker the Berry, gave me insight into some of the struggles that the African American community experiences in America.
